Bhangra Dance Workshop at Queens Public Library – Sunnyside

May 28 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Celebrate AANHPI Heritage Month with Ajna Dance at this joyful Bhangra dance workshop, celebrating culture, rhythm, and community.

Join us to learn this joyful folk dance from the Punjab region in India and Pakistan. This dance originated in rural areas and was performed to celebrate a good harvest. The signature move of this folk dance is strong shoulder movements accompanied by big joyful hops, leaps, and arm movements. The music is positive, energetic and is highlighted by the dhol drum’s infectious beats! This is a fun interactive program for the whole family – balle balle!

This free, in-person workshop is open to kids, teens, adults, and seniors. Come ready to dance, laugh, and experience the joy of this traditional celebration. Balle balle.

In partnership with Queens Public Library.
